The winds seem to grow stronger every year. Exiled to her home in a cavern in the cliffs, Nuyani awakes to a new horror plaguing the drylands. As the new threat arises, she is forced to survive against beasts, specters, and the persecution of her people, the Kelvertians. Along the way, she makes choices shaping the fate of the land, discovers a past buried in secret, and learns the reason behind her ember glowing eyes.
The annual sandstorms that swept the drylands for centuries had been stopped. But their safety would not last. Nuyani, once exiled from her village for her strange eyes like many before her, is now the priestess of the Kelvertians after saving her people from the corrupted animals and twisted specters plaguing the land, and reviving the faith in their god, Kelvert.
But guilt and sorrow spurs the priestess to act as she abandons her home she longed for. She must venture into the demon lands to save her mother’s spirit and stop the storms for good.
Only, the further she travels into the desert, she learns how isolated her people were from the rest of the world.
Guided by Zonqua, a wondering mage with his own troubles, she learns that the demon’s corruption was far worse the closer she reached the center.
With new cultures and animals she could never imagine, Nuyani sees new wonders the world has to offer along with threats both from the people around her, and monsters beneath the sands.
