Just Around the Corner

Day 8 Oct/1/2020:

This will be a new beginning. So far, draft 3 is complete, but I still need to send the story to an editor. I'm currently planning out the next 100 days and what I need to be done by when. This seems easy-going thus far, but I just don't want to fall behind or move blindly. Aside from this, I am working on completing my notes along the way. That is especially concerning when it comes to writing. I nearly forget to look at the notes I still need to finish.

After I complete this current series, I will take a few months to hash out the rest of the notes. At least for what I can do before losing face. I am so close. The next thing to do after that is writing some more short stories for flushing out the world. This will also help my notes with several different situations I have in mind. I do think that writing 4000 words a day will be the most optimal for a time, but the ability and time are two completely different variables at opposite ends of each other. That only means I will be writing slower, though. I can live with that, however.

Almost There

09/23/2020: (Day 100)

I am close to finishing my first novella. I do have to consider the effect of cutting the story into three's, but I believe this to be the best. This will not only get my work done at a faster rate, but it will allow me to see things with more clarity. With draft 3 nearly complete, the next step is to finish the notes, cover, and editing. Then it will be time to format and publish the book. These next few steps will not be cheap either but, in the meantime, I will focus on part two and knock it out as soon as I can.

So, in a review of everything I've done, I am happy that I managed to complete something while pushing myself further than ever. The story should be published before November at this rate and, it is crazy to think about. I am concerned with the final edit time, but time to cross that bridge when I get there. That may be soon though. After that, it will be time to focus even harder on my efforts. Next year, I want to complete at least 3 books. With a new mantra, I will shoot for 4000 words a day. That is the goal at least.

On the Path

09/10/2020 (Day 87):
A day late, but I still got my progress going. The story is out to beta readers and I am seeing what I need to do next. So far, the first review was insightful while the second I find questionable. It was both lacking and almost ignorant of the story. In that case, I would like to refer to the other reviews before dealing with the vague review.
Aside from this, I do want to see what I can do for the third draft. There are keyword eliminations I need to look out for, along with some other errors I'd like to try and find. The one thing I want to do is get my work done as soon as possible. I want to publish the story by November 15th. There is no guarantee. This is the current goal and I want to reach it. Full throttle. Also, I need to buy a cover. I do need to remember that.

Editing and Draft 3 on the Way

09/03/2020: (Day 80)
A little late on this one, but I've been doing a lot of work on the story. I've managed to complete at least the partial rewrite and I am starting on the editing that I can finish in a day. By Saturday or Sunday, I can send the story off to a few beta readers and get their input. Lights green to go and I am ready to roll. I closed my video account on youtube considering that if I am doing more vids than writing that only takes away more of my progress.
I need to be more deliberate in my work and videos won't get the work published. Also, by the end of this month, I plan to finish draft 3 and send it to editors. Let's see what happens.

Draft 2 Complete. Now to Fine Tune

08/26/2020:
I've completed draft 2 for "The Witch of Kelvert" part 1. I tried to stick with a 2500words/day goal and it's holding up. I find it a lot more productive, though it takes just as long. Right now, I am working on the quick edit, I'm not too sure I could qualify as draft 3 but just changing a few storylines and details before going in for grammar. Once that is done, I will send it to betas. I am still shooting for the story's completion of the draft by the end of this month.
I am close and I don't plan on quitting until it is done. I do feel I may break into the next month, but that won't be much of a problem. It is more important to finish the story than it is to worry about the time. This is still the first novella and the longest. By Saturday, I hope to have the story tweaked.

Structure Needed

Day (65/100) 08/19/2020:
I will try to do this with a little more structure and discipline. So, here's the plan. Sunday's will have author vlogs with a little info on what I am working on including influences and lessons, Wednesdays will have blogs with quick story updates. That seems like the best idea so far to add value in both mediums.

To start this habit off, I have been trying to keep a goal of writing 2500 words for four days straight before resting on the fifth. I feel this will be the best practice for typing faster, parsing my thoughts, and a decent way to avoid burnout. It has worked well for me thus far with my current work, 'The Witch of Kelvert' part 1, nearly finished. I have half of chapter 4 complete and I only have chapters 5 and 6 remaining. I did want to complete the story by the 20th, but I've seen where that road leads. Burnout is the biggest enemy right now and the last thing I want to deal with.

Considering the high word count giving at least 62500 words a month, I will get closer to finishing my stories at a rapid rate. Also, completing 4000 words over 4 days will give me 100,000 words for a full book a month, but that is just a goal to work towards. As of now, 2500 will work fine. That's it for now. I do need to collect video topics and learn more about website optimization.

Progress on the Way

05/03/2020: Now I am back and finishing most of my notes. For this 2nd third of the year, I will work to be more diligent in these posts and knocking out more writing. I've dealt with a harsh set back of all my notes being erased. Now, I've rewritten some of the keynotes but, there is far more to do. Time to keep writing.

So Far...Yeah

11/22/2019: With eight days left in the month, I think this is an excellent time to reflect on my efforts. Not everything I had done, I maintained daily. I've wanted to write daily with at least 1000 words on weekdays and each weekend giving me time to write 3000. There is also the vlogs I wanted to do for documentation. With that being said, I haven't gone backward either.

I've still managed to write at least 500, but usually 1000, each day aside from 4 days this month. And on weekends, I've got my largest word counts and progressed the story. Right now, I will redirect my efforts to talking more about the journey instead of how difficult the day is since some vlogs were more about how hard it was to write while wanting to sleep. Not so rivetting. I will focus more on the lessons I've learned instead of the random problems of the day.

No beating myself up for not maintaining a daily consistency, but I am further in my work than I've ever been before. To this, I will be happy at the fact that I'm close to done with the second draft. I just hope to finish before next month and start the 3rd draft soon — plans for the future.

10 Days into the Challenge

11/10/2019:

As of now, I have made great progress working on the current story of "Death in the Sands." The story, in my opinion, has taken longer than I intended, but I am trying to work faster and more often. So far, I've completed at least 12,000 words within the month, and I do need to get some more work done.

I use my weekends to complete about 3000 words, while weekdays are focused on 1000 words. This does give me a chance to finish more stories in the long run, but I am unsure where I will go with this. This part is just a numbers game. Between throwing words at the wall to collect enough for the books, I just want to finish these stories before too long.

I love writing, but with so much fear, I've only hesitated in my efforts. It is time to correct this and move on. The current goal is to complete the story before the next year, published and all.

3000 Word Challenge

11/01/2019:

Time to get things done. This month is dedicated to finishing the story and getting it to beta readers as soon as possible. 3000 a day and, it starts now.

Coming Back with a Strategy

October 22, 2019:

Right now, I've been trying to do better on my writing and to see if I could manage reaching higher numbers daily. I am looking at writing 500 words a day for the next three weeks and see if I can double. That is the goal for now, and I am trying to read daily, as well. With it being so late in the year, I will go for six more books for the rest of the time. Mostly to see what happens with 100 + pages a day.

Other than that, I want to finish the novella, "Death in the Sands," before the end of the year, which feeds into my 500/day goal. So for the rest of the time, reading and writing is the focus.

On A Roll

05/15/2019: I finally finished the children's book, and it is available on sight now, as well as Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. Aside from that, I am also keeping up with the 1000 words per day thing since Monday. I had another project I was working on, but that is done, and I am finishing the book outline so I can get the stories going. Soon, I will have the novels written, and the ball can roll.

Full Reflection and Future Plans

03/26/2019: Hello everyone. It is a new day and a new opportunity. I have finished dealing with some personal endeavors allowing me to free up some time to complete my work. By May, I plan on completing another short story and a children’s book. These have been waiting for too long, but I got to get my stuff together. Now that I have the chance, the future is looking bright. Not certain of the names yet, but I will keep those in mind. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Depth and Detail

02/26/2019: Getting into the lore and creating reference pieces. I have over a decade of information in my head, and I don't want to get things confused right now. I will take more initiative to write more of the lore as I continue the story. This picture is a small reference of a goddess named Tilimilia. She plays a higher role in the world, but for now, is just here as a starting piece for the background. I'm not the best sketch artist out there, but this is a start.

Future Plans

Trying to schedule and rethink how I complete my work. I tend to rush one project and forget about the others which doesn't help all that well. This time, I will see if I can take small bits out of the day and to complete the next few short stories and children's books. Personal challenge, for now, is to have at least one of each done in the next 50 days. That's the plan thus far and I am hoping to go further.

New Beginnings

02/12/2019: Finally published a short story. Warriors of Tilinia: Purpose of the Blade. One of many to come and I hope to make this work well. I am doing a little too much. The only thing worth doing is the stuff that makes you happy.
